Due to the construction of the Recreation Centre and the upgrades to Student Union Boulevard, the three flagpoles, as well as the BC, Musqueam, and UBC flags at the North Plaza of the Life Building were removed on July 19, 2022.
The three flagpoles will be temporarily installed at the East Mall Entrance and Plaza at the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre by August 15, 2022.
Once public realm upgrades in this area and the construction of the new Recreation Centre are completed, the anticipated permanent home for the flags will be near the west terminus of Student Union Boulevard, close to the original site of the flagpoles.
