Strengthening Municipal Services’ Asset and Fleet Management Services

In order to enhance our technical expertise in civil engineering, asset stewardship and fleet management, UBC Facilities’ Municipal Services is pleased to welcome two new team members, Fiona Keating and Rishi Purohit.

Fiona Keating, Senior Manager

Fiona Keating brings with her a diverse background from a variety of private and public sector experiences in operations, design, project management and asset stewardship. Fiona’s recent experience with the Vancouver Park Board — where she oversaw major infrastructure projects in Stanley Park and supported the initiation of asset management — positions her well in a complex jurisdictional setting.

In her new role as Senior Manager, Fiona will be an active member of the project transition team and technical guideline reviews, as well as oversee Fleet and Asset Management and lead strategic initiatives for the Municipal Team.

Fiona is a professional engineer and project management professional who graduated from UBC’s Engineering program.

Rishi Purohit, Fleet and Asset Manager

Rishi Purohit joins Municipal Services from Securiguard Services, where he was the Fleet Manager for British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, supporting various private and public sector organizations and leading Securiguard’s electric vehicle project and driver training program.

With extensive experience in holistic fleet management from strategic decision-making to vehicle maintenance, Rishi will be well positioned to oversee Fleet and Garge and support as Municipal Services’ Planon super user.

Rishi holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering, specializing in IT and a Master’s in Administrative Science.

Thank you to Tamas Weidner for his strong leadership and oversight of the Garage! As of January 3, Tamas will focus on operational improvements and priorities that support the Waste Management team and Climate Action Plan 2030, while Rishi will oversee Fleet and the Garage.
