Furniture Re-use program

Here at UBC, we have bold ambitions to become a zero-waste community. UBC is launching a furniture reuse program to help keep as much waste as possible out of the landfill.

Led by Facilities Planning in Infrastructure Development, the Furniture Reuse Program offers gently-loved furniture items at discounted prices right here at the Vancouver campus, helping you save money and support sustainability.

To enquire about furniture for sale, donate unwanted furniture items or learn more about the program, please contact furniture.reuse@ubc.ca

Weekly Emergency Tip: Packing non-perishable food in your emergency kit

Non-perishable foods are an important part of your emergency preparedness kit. Choose items such as canned vegetables, fruits, and stews that are ready to eat. Crackers, cookies and granola bars are also a good choice, along with nuts and dried fruit. Don't forget to replace items once per year.

For more information about preparing an emergency food kit, visit the Government of Canada’s website.

Tip: UBC faculty and staff receive a 10% discount on items in the Total Prepare website using code UBC-SRS-EP at checkout.

Attend a virtual forum on UBC’s anti-racism commitments

You are invited to attend a virtual forum on January 25, 2023, to learn more about the work that has been done, as well as UBC’s progress and plans to implement its anti-racism commitments. You will also hear from task force members and meet the new leadership charged with putting recommendations into institutional action.
