Career Centre Renovation at Brock Hall set to begin in February
Estimated construction dates: February – July 2026
The Career Centre Renovation will reimagine and enhance the existing space within the ground floor of Brock Hall’s east wing so that it better serves the current and future activities of the UBC Career Centre.
The UBC Career Centre is a valuable resource for students and alumni looking to secure jobs, build professional skills, and develop long-term career plans. The project will create a welcoming and flexible environment that can support one-to-one learning as well as group workshops which will considerably increase the Centre’s capability to support career development. With large career events currently hosted outside of Brock Hall due to space restrictions, the need for an open collaboration space that can reach a capacity of 100 students is important to bring together the UBC’s student career development services.

Here’s what to expect during construction
- Occupants in Brock Hall should expect noise from ongoing construction activities. All efforts will be made to keep the disruption to a minimum.
- The highest levels of noise are expected to occur during demolition and coring throughout February.
- There will be no access to the Career Centre area at Brock Hall during construction.
- A laydown area will be established near the building for the project.
