Project Summary

UBC is committed to supporting cyclists, and is continually looking to upgrade and expand on-road infrastructure and end-of-trip facilities and this new shelter contributes to this initiative. Encouraging biking by providing end of storage and end of trip facilities is key to a sustainable campus. Through efficient structural design, we created a smaller building envelope, thereby reducing construction materials, costs, and the environmental footprint.

New standalone bike parking facility was built to accommodate the expanding need for secure bike facilities on campus. The project was completed in partnership with UBC’s Sustainability and Engineering office at Campus & Community Planning.
