Thunderbird Boulevard closure for the Transportation Test Bed Project

Thunderbird Boulevard will be reopening to traffic in both directions starting Monday, February 13.  Work is still ongoing at the project site, so pedestrian detours and short-duration disruptions on Thunderbird Boulevard can still be expected.

Walter Gage Road closed for Brock Commons

Walter Gage Road east of East Mall will remain closed until ~September 2023. Pedestrians are also detoured around the site as shown in the above map.

The new Food and Beverage Innovation Centre building is underway

The new Food and Beverage Innovation Centre (FBIC) will be located on the south side of Hospital Lane between East Mall and Health Sciences Mall. Hospital Lane will be fully closed during most of the construction. Pedestrians are detoured to the north side of the School of Population and Public Health building as shown in the map above.

District Energy System work on Student Union Boulevard from Feb 13 to March 4

The eastbound lane on Student Union Boulevard will be closed from Monday, February 13 to Saturday, March 4. Eastbound traffic will be detoured north to Walter Gage Road to exit onto Wesbrook Mall. This work will result in some delays to traffic, so we ask the community to plan ahead.

Pedestrians crossing Student Union Boulevard west of the Exchange Residence, will be detoured east or west to other crossings.  No public parking or space for pick-up/drop-off will be available on Student Union Boulevard, except in front of the Tim Horton’s.

Repairs to Wesbrook Mall between Birney Ave and Berton Ave in Wesbrook Place Feb 13 to Feb 25

The northbound and southbound lanes on Wesbrook Mall will be closed in sections from Monday, February 13 to Saturday, February 25 to allow for the road surface to be repaired. The road will remain open to two-way traffic, however, delays should be anticipated and alternative routes are recommended during this time.

The bus stops will remain active, however the exact bus stop location will shift north or south within the same block. Please look for signs indicating where to find the bus stops.  Sidewalks and crosswalks will not be affected with this work.
