Jenny Black joins UBC Facilities as Red Zone Facilities Manager

Jenny joins UBC Facilities from UBC Athletics and Recreation where she has been working for the past nine years as a Facility Coordinator and eventually as a Facility Manager. Buildings in her portfolio have included the War Memorial Gym, the UBC Boathouse and most recently Thunderbird Park where she was managing eight buildings and 14 sports fields.

She brings a wealth of experience collaborating with many UBC Facilities departments such as Custodial Services and Building Operations, as well as Campus and Community Planning, Parking and Access Services, Campus Security, and local emergency services.

Jenny earned her Bachelor of Human Kinetics from UBC, and has been involved in volleyball coaching, Volleyball BC, and Volleyball Canada outside of work. She takes pride in the professional relationships she has developed at the University over the years and has developed a passion for efficiency.

Jenny’s first day in her new role will be on November 6th. She will have a one-month handover period with outgoing Red Zone Facilities Manager, Mark Donald Jones who will be retiring on December 15th.
