Explore the stunning new Chung | Lind Gallery

The Chung | Lind Gallery in the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre welcomes visitors to explore BC’s multicultural history.

The renovation project was managed by UBC Facilities Project Services. Located on the second floor of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre, the gallery includes approximately 292 square metres of display space that has been renovated to meet Canadian Conservation Institute guidelines for preserving heritage collections.

The new exhibition space brings together two library collections of rare and culturally significant materials from Canada’s history. The collections explore the growth of early B.C. and the Yukon through exhibits that reveal stories about the Indigenous experience and the experience of Chinese immigrants to B.C.

Thank you to everyone involved in the project. The gallery is the result of great collaboration between UBC Library and UBC Facilities teams to bring this space to life.

The Chung | Lind Gallery is now open.
