UBC Facilities achieved the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Green Building (GB) advanced by GBAC with Honours certification. This certification from ISSA, the world’s leading trade association for the cleaning industry, places UBC in the elite top tier of all cleaning service providers world-wide.
This achievement represents the highest levels of excellence and demonstrates our commitment to leading quality of service, environmental standards, customer satisfaction and compliance with the industry’s best practices. It upholds UBC as a credible, quality-focused, employee and customer-oriented organization, and advances our VPFO portfolio mission to transform from conventional, traditional practices to being trusted business partners.
To achieve CIMS, UBC Facilities was required to undergo a rigorous process and third-party validation of our operations, processes and supply chain of cleaning operations. The five sections of best practices include:
- Quality systems
- Service delivery
- Human resources
- Health, safety, and environmental stewardship
- Management commitment
In addition to CIMS, Facilities also achieved CIMS-GB (Green Buildings), which includes certification in green-cleaning and sustainability, which can secure points under the LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance (LEED EB: O&M) system.
