Over the past decade, UBC has grown considerably and now is similar to a city or town, in addition to being a university campus. With a dynamic and growing population, UBC Facilities recognizes the need to provide transparency and clarity on how assets and services on the UBC Vancouver campus are funded. The Museum of Anthropology reopens to the public
The Museum of Anthropology (MOA) seismic upgrades are complete and the museum reopened to the public last week. The reopening weekend coincided with the museum’s 75th anniversary and events and performances were held to celebrate. Many VPFO staff attended the reopening, and Safety & Risk Services team members were onsite to provide security.
Sharing power between your car and campus: UBC’s Smart Hydrogen Energy District (SHED)
If you drive an electric car, your battery power sits unused most of the day, while the city’s energy grid is at peak use. What if you could lend power to the grid during those peak hours and have your vehicle charged up again by the time you leave the office? UBC Facilities’ managed the SHED project construction, bringing this complex, innovative project into reality.

Renovation begins on the Forest Sciences Centre Room 2330/2323
Construction will begin in June for the Forest Sciences Centre Room 2330/2323 Renovation. The project will transform an existing classroom into a Learn Lab to serve students of the Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management Program.
UBC Emergency Management Water Well Project
Construction to begin in June on the UBC Emergency Management Water Well Project. Three test wells will be drilled on campus to help UBC prepare to provide water during an emergency.
