Planon is UBC’s Enterprise Maintenance Management System (EMMS). A cloud-based solution that supports UBC’s strategic goals, in the delivery of property, grounds and energy and water service; maintenance, inventory and asset management.

Launched November 2 2021, Planon is integrated with Workday, UBC’s Human Resources and Finance system and Archibus. The launch marked an exciting milestone following a 2-year journey including evaluation, selection, design, configuration, testing and implementation.

Teams within Facilities, Locksmiths, Chemistry Stores and Vancouver Campus building administrators use Planon on a daily basis. Staff in Stores and Technicians in the field also have access to Planon mobile applications, which provide easy access to key pieces of information required to complete their work.

Post launch, deployment of Planon functionality continues, and offers users more in-depth features and functionality. The Phase 1 extension project, for example, will integrate with ArcGIS field maps and expand the use of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) functionality within Energy & Water services and the Municipal team within Facilities.
