Construction: June 23 – End of October 2025
Construction on the Forest Sciences Centre Elevator Modernization Project is anticipated to begin on June 23 and estimated to be complete by the end of October 2025.
The project will fully upgrade elevators #1, #2, and #3, and renew the equipment and components to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Here’s what to expect
- Only one elevator will be under construction at a time. The anticipated schedule is as follows, subject to minor changes:

- Elevator #3 – closed June 23 to late July / early August

- Use Elevators #1 and #2 to access floors 1-4, use Elevator #4 to access the basement level

- Elevator #2 – closed early August to mid-September

- Use Elevators #1 and #3 to access floors 1-4 (Level 1B intermediate is not accessible via elevators)

- Elevator #1 – closed mid-September to end of October

- Use Elevators #2 and #3 to access floors 1-4

- Elevator technicians will be mostly working in the elevator shafts, elevator machine rooms, and at times in the elevator lobbies.
- Some noise generated from within the elevator shafts and the elevator machine rooms.
- An outdoor storage area will be set up near the Tim Hortons.
