onor Hourigan is the successful candidate for the sub-head Millwright (Mechanical Maintenance Assistant) position in Trades, Facilities.
Conor’s expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining various mechanical equipment throughout campus has enabled him to excel in the Millwright team. He has also provided strong leadership and support as the temporary fill-in subhead and head role. These skills will allow him to build upon the successes made by the Mechanical Assistant team over the past six months.
Conor has participated in the Expression of Interest (EOI) program, completed his National Air Filtration Association Certificate (NAFA NCT), he was selected by his peers to be an employee representative on the Trades’ Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee (JOHSC). Prior to working at UBC, he had the opportunity to train as an oil refinery firefighter (day brigade).
