Patrick Troen joins the EMMS Sustainment team in Facilities as a System Analyst II

Patrick Troen joins the EMMS Sustainment team in Facilities’ Customer Services & Informatics (CSI) as a System Analyst II. As a System Analyst, Patrick will be working closely with the Facilities team on all items related to Planon, which includes responding to ServiceNow tickets, reviewing/addressing backlog items, ensuring various technical activities are successfully completed in Planon, and more.

Construction begins on the CEDaR Lab mechanical & acoustical improvement

Construction is anticipated to begin on August 19 for the CEDaR (Community Engaged Documentation and Research) Lab Mechanical & Acoustical Improvement in the Buchannan Tower, Room 104A. The project will implement mechanical and acoustic improvements in the lab for noise attenuation and thermal enhancement.

Renovations to begin on the Marra Lab in the Networks of Centres of Excellence

Construction on the Marra Lab is anticipated to begin in mid-August 2024, and is anticipated to be completed by the end of December 2024. This renovation will upgrade the old furnishings, electrical and mechanical systems, and flooring to facilitate the research being conducted in the space.

Construction to begin on the Sustainable Timber-Built Environment Laboratory

Construction on the Sustainable Timber-Built Environment Laboratory will begin on August 6, 2024 and is anticipated to be completed by the end of December 2024. The southeast corner of the Centre for Advanced Wood Processing (CAWP) courtyard will be renovated to enclose a space for the laboratory that will be connected to existing CAWP infrastructure and services.

Cecille Lintag joins UBC Facilities as Assistant Manager, Capital Planning & Development

Cecille Lintag has joined UBC Facilities as Assistant Manager, Capital Planning & Development until November 25, 2024 to cover for Natalie Wagorn while on leave. Cecille will play a pivotal role in the administration, reporting, and financial oversight of our routine and capital projects, enhancing our campus infrastructure.

Upcoming 16th Avenue watermain project

Please be advised that UBC Facilities will be conducting maintenance work on the 16th Avenue watermain that supplies water to the UBC Vancouver campus. UBC Facilities will be flushing the system prior to and throughout this work. However, some buildings on the UBC campus may experience mild discolouration in their water or minor water pressure variances. The water remains safe for use and consumption.
