The UBC Pharmacy Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) System was featured for its innovative approach to energy efficiency. The UBC Okanagan District Energy Decarbonization project was also featured in the magazine.

UBC wins ASHRAE award for Pharmaceutical Sciences Centre Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) System
The DCV system has been awarded the BC Chapter Technology Award in the Educational Facilities Existing Building Commissioning (EBCx) category by the ASHRAE BC Chapter. The project showcases UBC Facilities’ commitment to innovation, sustainability, and life-cycle thinking in campus infrastructure.

Construction on accessibility upgrades at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health to begin on June 2
This project involves accessibility upgrades of a select door at the atrium on Level 3 to provide an accessible path of travel to the L3 lab, meeting rooms, and the administration office. Expect noise from renovation work at door 3410:1, with minor disruptions in the adjacent corridor and the administration office.
Forest Sciences Centre Elevator Modernization Project to begin on June 23
Construction on the Forest Sciences Centre Elevator Modernization Project is anticipated to begin on June 23 and estimated to be complete by the end of October 2025. The project will fully upgrade elevators #1, #2, and #3, and renew the equipment and components to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
