East entrances to IKB Learning Centre closed March 12

On Thursday, March 12, the east side of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre (IKB) will be closed to accommodate a crane lift hoisting two air handling units and a chiller to the roof.

Affected areas

• The affected area will be closed off and there will be personnel on the ground to assist with the vehicle traffic.
• East Mall: The crane lift will access the east side of the building and will be parked along East Mall as shown in the green hatched lines.
• North side of the building and roundabout: Delivery vehicles temporary parking area. They will not be there the whole time as want to allow other vehicles access the roundabout and exit the area.

Access to IKB and surround areas

• Entrance doors to IKB along East Mall will be restricted
  • The contractor will escort those needing accessible access to the automatic door opener (ADO) entrance at the southeast corner as needed 
• Access to the IKB loading bay will not be restricted.
• Access to Walter Gage road will not be restricted.
• Bike racks adjacent to the south entrance will not be restricted.
