If you drive an electric car, your battery power sits unused most of the day, while the city’s energy grid is at peak use. What if you could lend power to the grid during those peak hours and have your vehicle charged up again by the time you leave the office? UBC Facilities' managed the SHED project construction, bringing this complex, innovative project into reality.

UBC Facilities achieved the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Green Building (GB) advanced by GBAC with Honours certification. This certification from ISSA, the world’s leading trade association for the cleaning industry, places UBC in the elite top tier of all cleaning service providers world-wide.
Renovation begins on the Forest Sciences Centre Room 2330/2323
Construction will begin in June for the Forest Sciences Centre Room 2330/2323 Renovation. The project will transform an existing classroom into a Learn Lab to serve students of the Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management Program.
UBC Emergency Management Water Well Project
Construction to begin in June on the UBC Emergency Management Water Well Project. Three test wells will be drilled on campus to help UBC prepare to provide water during an emergency.
Construction to begin on the Microwave Generator Addition – Coal & Mineral Processing Laboratory
Construction will begin in June 2024 on the Microwave Generator Addition at the Coal & Mineral Processing Laboratory. The microwave generator will be used by the laboratory’s research group with the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering.
