The UBC technical guidelines have been reviewed and updated for 2022.
The Technical Guidelines play an important role in the development and projects at UBC, and help to ensure that buildings and renovations are designed and constructed to optimize service life and minimize the whole life-cycle cost for the University.
Congratulations to the Transition Team within Infrastructure Development’s Asset Replacement & Improvements (ARI) in Facilities for another successful and inclusive round of updates that were endorsed by the Technical Guidelines Steering Committee! Throughout the past year, the team led joint UBCV/UBCO working group meetings, met and collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders, and ultimately made 146 changes to the Technical Guidelines in 2022.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the working group meetings, brought forward suggestions, and worked closely with the team to help ensure the Technical Guidelines are relevant, meaningful, and ultimately serve the unique needs of both campuses of the University!
