Effective April 1, 2024, UBC Facilities’ charge-out rates have increased on the UBC Vancouver campus. This change is reflected in the Fiscal 2024/25 Planning Guidelines and the Charge-out Rates page. Use these rates for budgeting and planning for the fiscal year 2024/2025.

Over the last few years, UBC Facilities has made some nominal adjustments to its service charge-out rates, which were unchanged for many years. Consequently, over time the rates have gradually become misaligned with the actual costs incurred for completing work. This misalignment has impacted the university’s ability to deliver core maintenance and operations activities in administrative and academic buildings.
The rate adjustment has been carefully benchmarked against rates at similar institutions across Canada and in the local market to ensure that the charges accurately reflect the actual costs incurred for the services provided.
