UEL Watermain works February 18–20

University Endowment Lands (UEL) is conducting some watermain works on West 16th Avenue between Blanca Street and Wesbrook Mall from February 18–20.  The water supply to UBC will remain available during the replacement and the water remains safe for use and consumption. Some buildings may experience mild discolouration in their water or minor water pressure variances.

High efficiency, big savings: The value of replacing aging campus infrastructure

UBC Facilities undertakes routine capital projects to address deferred maintenance assets and facility modernization. Recent projects have replaced aging infrastructure with new, efficient systems that meet campus needs while lowering energy and maintenance demands. 

Jeev Saini appointed as new Head of Mechanical Operations in Building Operations

Jeev Saini has been appointed as the new Head of Mechanical Operations, effective February 3. We are excited to see Jeev step into this key role and provide continued dedicated support to our Mechanical Operations team.

Scarfe Office Block is undergoing electrical renovation starting in May 2025

Construction on the Scarfe Complex Electrical Renovation is anticipated to begin in May 2025 and to be completed in August 2025. This renovation will remove aging electrical equipment and upgrade the system for greater reliability and expanded capacity.
