COVID-19

With the gradual and phased reoccupancy of the university, UBC Facilities operations teams are working to ensure reopening buildings are properly cleaned, operating, and maintained to provide a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff.

This information is to inform students, faculty, and staff of Facilities’ operations and service levels to support UBC’s approach to safely resume campus activities as directed by the BC Provincial Government’s BC Restart plan and in accordance with WorkSafeBC and Provincial Health Officer requirements.


Please provide the Facilities team a minimum of five business days advance notice prior to submitting a request to reoccupying your building/space. This will allow our teams to more effectively schedule and prepare your space for safe reoccupancy.


Those working remotely should continue to do so. Changes in your current personal work arrangements are permitted only after your department/unit’s respective safety plan has been approved. If your role has required you to continue to work on campus, your department/unit is still required to submit a COVID-19 Safety Plan.


Due to COVID-19, you may experience longer than normal lead times for responding to requests and completing services. Our teams are following all protocols to ensure campus health and safety. Thank you for your continued patience, cooperation, and understanding.
