A friendly reminder to run the cold water taps to ensure water is fresh
As many buildings on campus have reduced occupancy, we want to remind everyone that running the cold water taps until the water is cold is an important step before drinking or using for food preparation. This will ensure the water is kept fresh for use and stagnant water is flushed from the building’s pipe network system.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment and perseverance
I am grateful to all Facilities staff for your on-going commitment and perseverance in adapting to our current realities with COVID-19. Whether you are working from home to deliver important services or working on campus to ensure that our infrastructure is properly monitored, maintained and cleaned or on-going construction projects are managed, please know that your contributions are crucial to the campus community.

Construction projects remain active on campus
As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, the province has listed construction as an essential service in B.C. Worksites are taking all necessary precautions as advised by Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Provincial Health Officials.
A record fiscal year for the Construction Office
The number of trade hours worked and projects completed grew exponentially compared to the average hours worked in the last five years.
