Interior Signage Guidelines
The Interior Signage Guidelines provides mandatory standards and guidelines for the creation, installation, and repair of permanent interior signage in academic and institutional (including student residence) areas of the UBC campuses.
The Guidelines are intended to ensure a consistent signage system that reflects and conforms to UBC’s visual identity. The individual signage elements, strategically arranged, are key to an effective wayfinding system.
Guidance on appropriate building signage in the Point Grey campus University Neighborhoods Association (UNA) is provided in the relevant Neighbourhood Plan documents.
Please note: Accessibility and washroom-related requirements are now out-of-date in the Interior Signage Guidelines due to evolutions in building code and better practices. For questions or further information until a new version is published, please contact the Facilities Service Centre to connect with a Facilities Planner, or reach out to your Facilities Manager.
