Florante Navarro promoted to Sub-Head, Stores in Municipals Services

Florante brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help him transition into his new role as a Sub-Head and contribute to the team in a leadership capacity. He has worked with the Stores team for the past 3 years as an Operator. Prior to working with Stores, Florante spent 19 years working with Custodial Services with the last 7 years as a Custodial Storekeeper.  

Winston Feliciano promoted to Mechanic Apprentice in Building Operations

Winston brings over 10 years of supply chain experience and has completed the Building Operations Expression of Interest (EOI) Program, as well as participated as an employee representative on Municipal Joint Occupational Safety Committee. 

Facilities teams supporting extreme weather events and keeping our community safe

2021 certainly was an unprecedented year for those working on campus to support extreme weather events. A big thank you goes out to team members across Facilities who support extreme weather such that the university can continue to operate in a safe and functional capacity.

Gilberto Andrade joins Municipal Services as the new Senior Materials Resource Coordinator

Gilberto holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a designation in Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM). He comes to UBC with over 25 years of experience in materials and logistics management in varying industries ranging from home appliances and steelworks. 

Focusing our resources at the frontline

Our new Facilities organizational structure will enable us to work better together as an integrated Facilities team, and allow for more efficient planning, decision-making and communications. It will also reduce management costs to help address budget constraints and free resources for operational positions where workload and demands are high. 

Meynardo Villarica promoted to Architectural Sub Head in Building Operations

Meynardo joins the architectural supervisory team with strong carpentry and customer services experience which he refined in his current role as Yellow Zone Carpenter. His carpentry trade background, coupled with his skills and understanding of the restoration process will benefit the architectural trade team well as he brings a fresh perspective to this role.
