This year, UBC Facilities received eight NAFA Clean Air Awards for its outstanding air filtration practices in the following buildings:
- AMS Student Nest
- UBC Aquatic Centre
- Beaty Biodiversity Museum
- Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS)
- Forest Sciences Centre, Henry Angus Building
- Irving K. Barber Learning Centre
- Wayne & William White Engineering Design Centre
In addition, Facilities also received four renewal awards, which demonstrating our continued dedication to providing the highest level of clean air within UBC buildings:
- Pharmaceutical Sciences Building (initially awarded in 2019)
- Life Sciences Centre (initially awarded in 2020)
- Centre for Comparative Medicine (initially awarded in 2020)
- Museum of Anthropology (initially awarded in 2020)
Created by the National Air Filtration Association, the purpose of this award program is to promote and recognize the use of high efficiency filtration products and good maintenance practices. The NAFA Clean Air Award validates the leadership and excellence of UBC’s IAQ Program, specifically in air filtration.
