Learning beyond the classroom: A collaborative effort between UBC Facilities & the School of Population & Public Health

Last month, UBC Facilities’ Building Operations was invited by Dr. Karen Bartlett, a Professor in the School of Population & Public Health (SPPH) to present to her Master of Science graduate class in the Occupational & Environmental Hygiene graduate program.

Building Operations presented the university’s Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Program and highlighted UBC’s established operations and maintenance practices before, during and beyond COVID-19. The presentation was followed by a site tour of the mechanical room and Operations Centre in the University Services Building.

Last October, UBC Facilities had also presented the university’s IAQ program to industry leaders at the Pacific Coast Region of APPA (PCAPPA) Conference, and it was very well received.

Collaborating with the campus community and sharing knowledge with our industry leaders continues to strengthen UBC Facilities’ position as a trusted partner to our campus communities and commitment to supporting UBC’s academic mission, in alignment with VPFO’s strategic plan.
