New home of UBC’s School of Biomedical Engineering will advance health solutions and grow Canada’s biotech sector. As Canada’s first purpose-built facility for biomedical engineering, the new building brings together researchers, students, and industry partners under one roof.

Facilities Service Request Dashboard is now live

UBC Facilities is pleased to share that the Facilities Service Request Dashboard is now live. The Facilities Service Requests Dashboard (CWL and VPN required) is a centralized, interactive tool designed to provide visibility into open service requests submitted through Planon.

Re-installation of the “Symbols for Education” mural now complete outside Brock Commons South

With Brock Commons South now complete, the Symbols for Education mural is successfully reinstalled. This effort was led by Pam Troyer, Project Manager, and Victor Wong, Project Coordinator.

A new Utility Portal is coming your way! 

The new UBC Utility Portal will be launching in Summer 2025. This portal will improve utility customers’ ability to manage their utility accounts and let them receive invoices online and go paperless!

Adopting a new Facilities service delivery model

Starting April 1, Facilities will be transitioning to a more streamlined and sustainable service model, and the 15-hour non-billable labour limit for customer-funded services will be discontinued.

Updated email for the Service Centre

The UBC Facilities Service Centre email has been changed from servicecentre.buildingops@ubc.ca to servicecentre.facilities@ubc.ca to align with the current department structure.

UEL Watermain works February 18–20

University Endowment Lands (UEL) is conducting some watermain works on West 16th Avenue between Blanca Street and Wesbrook Mall from February 18–20.  The water supply to UBC will remain available during the replacement and the water remains safe for use and consumption. Some buildings may experience mild discolouration in their water or minor water pressure variances.
