Supporting building users and academic research through air fan system upgrades in the Chemistry Physics Building  

In February, a supply fan at Chemistry A Block in the Chemistry Physics Building suffered a critical failure, resulting in the shutdown of fumehoods directly impacting research. Special thanks to Building Operations, Energy & Water Services, Infrastructure Development, and all across Facilities who were involved with this process.

Frederick Kwok joins Facilities Information and Inventory System team in Infrastructure Development as CAD Technician

In his role as a CAD Technician, Frederick will play a vital part in the development of building floorplans, maps, and space inventory. His extensive expertise in CAD and meticulous attention to detail make him an invaluable addition to UBC Facilities.  

New art connects The Reconciliation Pole to Musqueam territory

Infrastructure Development recently completed the project to install the large-scale bronze artwork co-created by xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) master carver Kayám̓ Richard Campbell and Haida master carver and hereditary chief James Hart, 7idansuu (Edenshaw). The new artwork now anchors Hart’s The Reconciliation Pole (2015-17) to Musqueam territory.
