Safe reoccupancy for your building & spaces

With the gradual and phased reoccupancy of the university, we want to remind faculty and staff that the Facilities Group will require a minimum of five business days notice before a building is ready for reoccupancy. Our custodial and trades staff are currently working on rotation, and we will require advance notice in order to more effectively schedule our teams to prepare your space for safe reoccupancy.

NOTE: Those working remotely should continue to do so. Changes in your current personal work arrangements are permitted only after your department/unit’s respective safety plan has been approved. If your role has required you to continue to work on campus, your department/unit is still required to submit a COVID-19 Safety Plan.

Please ensure the following information is available and complete prior to submitting a request to reopen your building/space:

  • COVID-19 Safety Plan is approved.
  • Safety signage and floor markings are implemented in your space.
  • Please provide to Building Operation’s Facilities Manager all locations/room numbers that will be reoccupied.

For more information on COVID-19 Safety Planning, please visit the Safety & Risk Services website.

For more information on your Facilities’ operations and services levels during COVID-19, please visit the COVID-19 section of this website.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding as we continue to work with you to ensure a safe reoccupancy in your building. For questions, please contact your Facilities Manager or Building Operations Service Centre at 604-822-2173.
