The closure of the University Boulevard (UBlvd) bus loop has been extended from May 1, 2022, to May 15, 2022 (exact date to be determined). The bus loop is closed due to three projects under construction simultaneously — School of Biomedical Engineering (SBME) Building, Gateway Health Building, and a utility steam tunnel repair.
The work for the steam tunnel repair at the far west end of UBlvd is anticipated to be complete by May 14, 2022. Once complete, access to this area will be available. The UBlvd Lot will remain open.
Flaggers will no longer be required to run single-lane vehicle traffic on the north side of UBlvd since traffic will be able to travel around the loop.
Pedestrians and cyclists will continue to be detoured to the south side of UBlvd.
The detour around the north side of the Gateway construction site will remain in place and accessible to residents and delivery only, to reduce the amount of traffic on that temporary roadway.
