Andy Gomes has been promoted to Operations Centre Manager. Andy will officially assume his new role on March 1, 2024. Andy’s extensive background and experience within the Mechanical Operations department makes him a valuable asset to the team, and we are confident Andy will excel in his expanded responsibilities.

Gilberto Andrade is promoted to Building Asset Specialist and will be joining Building Operations within Facilities starting January 29, 2024. His expertise and data-driven decision-making will enhance asset management procedures, creating efficient and sustainable spaces for research, teaching, and learning at UBC Vancouver.
Construction begins on the Laboratory of Archeology – Iona Building
Construction has begun on the new Community Research Centre in the Iona Building Parkade Level Rooms B161 & B162. This project aims to create a new space for housing archaeological collections.
