Museum of Anthropology to reopen on June 13 at 5:00 pm
The MOA at UBC will reopen its doors to the public on June 13, 2024 at 5:00 pm. The space has undergone cutting-edge seismic upgrades to the Great Hall, coupled with the revitalization and reinterpretation of displays of Northwest Coast Indigenous carvings, poles, weavings and other works from the past and present. Telehealth and Data Analysis Renovation | Neville Scarfe Room 273
Construction is anticipated to begin at the start of May on the Neville Scarfe Building Telehealth and Data Analysis Renovation. Rooms 273, 273E and 273F will be reconfigured to provide a suitable space for research.
Aaron Mogerman appointed Director of Infrastructure Development at UBC Okanagan
Aaron Mogerman has been appointed as Director of Infrastructure Development at UBC Okanagan effective May 6, 2024. Aaron is returning to this role after taking some time to pursue other professional opportunities over the last couple of years. Stage 1 of Metro Vancouver’s Lawn Watering Regulations will be in effect from May 1 to October 15, 2024. Both residential and non-residential watering is only allowed once a week.
Parm Ubhi promoted to Assistant Chief Engineer in Energy & Water Services
Paramvir Ubhi has been promoted to Assistant Chief Engineer in Energy & Water Services for UBC’s two thermal energy plants as of April 15. Parm will assist Jason Rako, Chief Engineer, in supervising the safe and efficient operation of the Campus Energy Centre and the Bioenergy Research and Demonstration Facility.

Water dispensing and filtration equipment
Drinking water on the UBC Vancouver campus comes from Metro Vancouver’s water system, and is regularly tested to maintain high-quality drinking water. But if a faculty/department would like to order third-party water dispensing and filtration equipment, this order and ongoing maintenance or refills would be customer-funded.
Keeping the clean water flowing to campus – 16th Ave Water Main Replacement begins April 15
This project will replace 400 metres of aging water main infrastructure along 16th Avenue. Expect noise and traffic changes along the route.
